Many of my cookbooks hold recipes I use again and again. I decided it would be fun to mark the spot where instructions for Anita's favorite banana cake and Frank's special pancakes and the apple pie we make at Thanksgiving can be found. Once my friends saw the bookmarks, they wanted some too. Now, whenever I give a cookbook as a bridal shower or housewarming gift I include a batch of bookmarks as well.
Materials:
-
Banner American QuikFinish Laminating Machine
-
Laminating pouches (size determined by the size of the bookmark you make - see project instructions)
-
Cookbookin' Recipe Scrapbooking papers (www.cookbookin.com)
-
Cookbookin' Recipe Scrapbooking metal edge embellishments or tags (www.cookbookin.com)
-
Eighth inch round hole punch

Ribbon, string or cord (for bookmarks with tags)
Instructions:

Cut Cookbookin' Recipe Scrapbook paper into strips. If you are using laminating pouches manufactured for bookmarks, cut the paper to fit. If you are making other sizes, use the laminating pouch that is the best fit (hint: You can fit five or six 8" bookmarks in a document pouch, depending on how wide you make them).

Options: For a two-sided bookmark, cut two pieces of paper for each one and glue them back to back before laminating. Alternatively, decorate the back of the bookmark with a message, the date, a recipe, pages where favorite recipes can be found, or whatever you want before laminating.
